The Oeko-Tex® standards were developed in the beginning of the 1990's as a reaction to the needs of consumers and the general public for textiles that were harmless to the health. "Toxins in Textiles" and other negative headlines were in great circulation indiscriminately branding the chemicals used in the manufacture of textiles as negative and dangerous to the health.

Modern textile products, however, cannot be realised without the use of at least some certain chemical substances. Fashion colours, easy care, durability and many others of the functional characteristics of textiles are wanted by the public and in some applications they are indispensable.



The more intensely a product has contact with the skin, the more strictly it must fulfil ecological requirements. We at FRAAS want you to be able to enjoy our products for as long as possible. We want to do justice to your and our own requirements in the manufacturing of precious textile accessories.

Thanks to the Oeko-Tex® Certification you can be sure that not only the final product, but also all the raw and intermediate materials – at all stages of manufacturing – are tested and evaluated annually.
